MARIA LEE, 1ST GRADE

Greetings, Roberts Elementary Family! I’m so excited to be joining the Roberts community this year. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood. I’ve had the opportunity to teach in both California and Texas, and this will be my fifth year in the classroom.

Over the years, I’ve taught kindergarten, first grade, and third grade—and I’ve loved watching my students grow and gain confidence at every level. I’m passionate about creating a positive, engaging learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year at Roberts Elementary!

AMBER PYEATT - INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

Hi! My name is Amber Pyeatt, and I have been a Roberts mom since 2016! My oldest Roberts alum Noah is now a junior in high school, Charlotte just graduated from Roberts last year, and Ian is a second grader this year.

I love the welcoming environment here and how invested the parents, teachers, staff, and local community are in our school. The PTO and staff make it easy to get involved, from evening and weekend events for working parents, one-time volunteer shifts, or more longitudinal volunteer positions. All are welcome and truly the more, the merrier!

This is my 7th year chairing the International Festival! The International Festival is a free event open to the entire school and surrounding neighborhood and community, and it showcases the wonderful diversity of our school. It’s inspiring that so many people attend, participate, and volunteer for the festival, including former students and parents (some from decades ago!). The best part is watching how proud the kids are of their cultures and how interested they are in learning about each other. Okay, the real best part is the amazing food, but you get the idea :)

If you’re interested in learning more or being involved, email internationalfestival@robertspto.org!
