Come join us for the 2023-24 Running Club Season!

The Roberts Running Club meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:45 to 7:15 am. The training sessions are for all grades and are coached by PE teacher Jack Alexander (Coach A to the kids). Each training session varies and involves stretching, a warm-up, a workout, and a cool-down. Coach A wants to inspire a love of running in all the Running Club kids!

Attendance is taken at every session, so please advise your child to check in with Coach as soon as he or she arrives. The School Street gate near the soccer field will be open starting at 6:30 am on practice mornings. Tennis shoes, running appropriate clothing, and a full water bottle are highly recommended. Your child may also want to bring a small hand towel because the kids can get quite sweaty!

Coach A will begin training sessions on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. We train rain or shine. If it is raining, the kids will train under the roof of the covered blacktop. However, for potential severe weather related cancellations, please check the email you provide with registration.

All new and returning student athletes must re-register to participate for the current school year. We request a donation of $25 per child per year. Your donations allow us to buy t-shirts and incentive prizes for the kids, and hold our annual end of the season race, The Mustang Rally - a 400m race for every grade level, held at the Rice Track & Field Stadium in May. The Running Club will also participate in various local running and triathlon races such as the Turkey Trot and the Run of Pi, a 5K fun run hosted every February by Houston Engineers Week.

Hope to see you at Running Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
