PTO MEETING THIS FRIDAY
 
 

ELECTION TIME! Join us for this month's PTO meeting, this Friday April 10th at 8AM in the Roberts Cafeteria as we elect next year's PTO Executive Committee. We will also discuss our steps on how the PTO is supporting the continued safety of our school. All Roberts Elementary families are members of the PTO, no dues are required! And there will be coffee!

ROBERTS CARNIVAL
 
 

The annual Roberts Carnival will take place THIS Saturday, April 11th, from 10AM to 2PM! Order your wristbands and tickets online and skip the line at the carnival! Wristbands and tickets ordered online will be available for pick up at will call at the School Street ticket booth during the carnival.

 

Volunteers are essential to make our carnival a success, we can’t do it without youPlease sign up for a shift here.

 

We are also collecting gently USED BOOKS AND GAMES for our Carnival booth! Donations can be placed in the box at reception. Check out the map of all the Carnival festivities below!

ParentSquare will let you customize notifications per school and district. Here's how to turn off district-level general announcements while keeping school specific notifications:

On the Mobile App

1. Tap the triple bar menu (☰) in the top left

2. Select Account, then Notifications

3. Turn ON Custom Settings to set different notifications for each school

4. Find the Houston Independent School District entry and set App, Text and or Email Notifications to Off

5. Leave your students' individual schools set to your preferred setting (Instant or Digest)

STAAR TESTING DATES
 
 

Below is the STAAR testing schedule for our 3rd through 5th grade students:

  • Reading STAAR: Tuesday, April 14th (3rd–5th grades)
  • Science STAAR: Tuesday, April 21st (5th grade only)
  • Math STAAR: Thursday, April 23rd (3rd–5th grades)

On these testing days, our campus will be closed to visitors and volunteers to ensure a quiet and focused environment- this includes the garden, the library, and the café. Thank you in advance for helping to ensure optimal testing conditions for our students!


Testing will start at the beginning of each day, and it is very important that your child be on time to school each day at 7:30AM. Please do not schedule appointments for late arrival or early release on these days so that students have the appropriate allotted time to test.

SPIRIT NIGHTS AT JENI'S ICE CREAM AND LOCAL FOODS
 
 

Join us for Spirit Night at Jeni’s Ice Cream in Rice Village this Thursday, April 9th from 4 to 7PM! Treat yourself to a scoop (or two!) and support our school at the same time. 25% of your purchase will go directly back to our community- so every cone counts!

 

Then, on Wednesday April 29 come enjoy dinner at a local favorite - Local Foods in Rice Village. Grab your family, meet up with friends, and make it an easy (and tasty) night out. We’d love to see you there!

ROBERTS AT RICE BASEBALL
 
 

Batter up! Grab your tickets and Cracker Jacks- Roberts night at Rice Baseball will be on Friday, April 17th at 6:30PM. Rice will take on University of Memphis and Roberts will take over the hill in left field!

Students will also be invited to go onto the field at Reckling Park with the players for the national anthem!

We are exploring interest in starting a Roberts Elementary Cheer Squad next fall! The squad would cheer for the RE soccer team and possibly other school events during the fall season (September–November). Practice would be held once per week for one hour.

If your child is interested in participating,

Sibling Registration for current Roberts families is now open! Registration appointments will be available through Thursday April 9th. Please see Registration Steps and sign-up for an appointment HERE.

 

Note: We are only releasing this information to current Roberts families for priority in registration. Registration for families new to Roberts will begin April 13th.

KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSE
 
 

Please help spread the word about our Kindergarten Open House on April 17th! This is a chance for zoned or newly accepted families to learn more about the school and the registration process.

It’s not too late to order your copy of the Roberts 2025-2026 yearbook! Please place your orders by May 8th. Paper fliers are also available near reception.

SUMMER SOCCER CLINICS
 
 

Soccer skills clinics are returning this summer with Coach Montoya! These sessions will focus on speed, technique, agility, strength, and a deeper understanding of the game. Each session is customized to the child’s skill level, with the goal for them to have fun while also learning and improving their soccer abilities.

 

The clinics are open to all, participants do not need to attend Roberts. All necessary equipment will be provided; athletes only need to bring their own water. Participants will be grouped by age for small-group sessions.

 

The program will begin the week of June 9th and run through July 30th at Roberts Elementary Soccer Field (attendance at all sessions isn't required). Scan the QR code or click the flier below for more information and to complete registration!

FAMILY FUN FRIDAYS ARE BACK!
 
 

Every Friday, the playground is open following dismissal! Join other Roberts families to hang out and get to know one another.

Please note:

  • Parents must pick up their student(s) and take them to playground area.
  • There is no access to the main building for restrooms or water.
  • If you bring snacks, please make sure you take all trash with you or place in the trash cans.
  • Do not park on School Street until the carpool line clears around 3:30PM!
RE CAMPUS TOURS
 
 

Prospective Roberts' families interested in touring the campus may do so on the given tour dates below. All tours start promptly at 9AM and parents should check-in at reception with a valid form of ID 5 - 10 minutes before the start of the tour. Appointments are not necessary.
