Final Round of District Testing

All students K–5 will participate in the final round of NWEA testing May 28–31. Please keep in mind May 28 is the day after Memorial Day. Make sure your child is rested and ready to test upon return from the holiday.

TEACHER OF THE WEEK
Ms. Sofia Marroquin, 3rd grade

Hello! I am Sofia Marroquin and I'm honored to be Roberts Teacher of the Week!

I live in Houston with my husband Daniel and our dog Arlo. I have been a part of the Roberts community for 21 years! This was my elementary school and I love our Roberts community so much! Being a Roberts teacher is my dream come true!

I am always in the middle of planning my next trip to Disney! When I'm not at school, I love spending time reading, crocheting and knitting. You can usually find me cheering on the 'Stros at the juice box!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK MAY 6–10

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6–10. Show your teachers some love and appreciation. A nice note or gift will uplift our teachers—here's a listing of all our staff and faculty's favorite things.

STUDENT-LED CONFERENCE AND PORTFOLIO PICNICS (1ST–5TH GRADES)

May 20–23, 2024

Roberts' annual Portfolio Picnics offer a chance for students to share their IB portfolios and reflections on the school year with parents and loved ones. Please make a date with your child and bring a picnic lunch and blanket to share to the front lawn of Roberts. This is a special opportunity for parents and their children to eat lunch together and review the students' IB portfolios. We are hoping every parent will be able to attend this very special event! We are also offering one evening Portfolio Picnic on Thursday, May 23 from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. If you have multiple children, we encourage you to attend the evening picnic!

All parents must RSVP by May 17.

Picnics take place over your child's lunchtime. Please refer to the table below and sign up for either Block A or Block B.

Many volunteers are needed on May 16 and 17 to help prep the event and break down the next day. Let's support Mrs. Jenkins at her last Roberts art show.
