Annual Student Information Update - Required
Whether you are new to HISD, returning, or transferring within the District, we need all families to complete the Annual Student Information Update. It is a quick and easy form where you can update your student's contact details, health and medical information, and back-to-school consent forms- all in one place. This is required, so help us get Roberts to a 100% completion rate.
Updating your information also connects you to the ParentSquare platform. Sign in, and start receiving messages from both your child’s school and the District through text, email, or the app. If you’re having trouble signing in, please give our Family Connection Center a call at 713-556-7121.

FIRST PTO MEETING THIS FRIDAY
|
Our PTO is gearing up for many Fall events and ongoing activities - Class Coffees, Spaghetti Supper, International Festival, Roberts @ Rice Football, Garden Cleanup, Workroom help, Library help, among others. There are several opportunities this week for you to meet other families and learn how you can help.
Our first PTO Meeting is this Friday, September 5th at 8am in the School Café. It's a great way to hear from Ms. Epps and learn about the PTO. Pro tips: (1) bring your I.D., and (2) come EARLY at 7:45am to get checked in. The Class Coffee Social, the next day on Saturday, September 6th, is another way to start connecting with other parents and let your kids play. Finally, come to the PTO Spaghetti Supper next Friday, September 12th! It will be an expanded PTO informational gathering with red sauce, raffles, and Committee Chairs ready to welcome you.
Support your kids this year by getting involved in the place where they spend most of their waking hours—school! When your kids see YOU vested in Roberts, THEY will be vested in Roberts.

DEADLINE FOR PIANO EXTENDED
|
The Roberts Piano Program with Mr. Cole accepts 1st -5th grade students. Any students interested in this program must commit to a full year of lessons and practice. They also need to maintain sound conduct and a good academic standard- otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue in the program.
All lessons are scheduled during the school day, during one of their grade-level recess times.
1st grade - 4th grade lessons are 20 minutes in length and 5th grade lessons are 30 mins in length, all once a week. This piano program has limited space and requires an additional commitment from home. We do not want spots taken by students who are only attending the lessons and otherwise not practicing daily.

- We are requesting that any student who signs up for this program have a piano or keyboard for use outside school.
- 1st – 5th grade continuing piano students will have priority in registration.
- Kindergarten Piano Lessons will begin in the Spring semester. Registration will open up in December.
Please complete thisformand submit payment via Tuesday folder or drop off at reception. Payment for the semester or the entire school year is due at the time of enrollment. The deadline to submit the form and fees is September 5th, 2025 (extension). Lessons will begin the week of September 9th. Please direct any questions to Ms. Tran at Kristina.tran@houstonisd.org.

MEET THE PTO COMMITTEE CHAIRS
|
Sue Church - Culture of Giving, Historian, Budget
Hello! My name is Sue Church and I’m the mom of Erin in 5th grade and alum Ashley. This is my 8th year as a parent at Roberts! My family lives a block away on Swift Blvd and you may have seen me walking with our three legged dog, Bella! I currently co-chair Culture of Giving and am Historian and Budget Chair. In the past I’ve co-chaired several other committees and volunteered at lots of events over the years.
Why do I volunteer? Because I want our school to continue to be the best. Roberts is a very special place because of the people! We are lucky to have a strong community with full mutual support between staff, teachers and families. It takes everyone working together to keep it strong.
You may also wonder, what is the Culture of Giving? You’re going to hear a lot about it very soon! It is one of the PTO’s annual fundraisers and starts on September 9th. The Culture of Giving raises money which covers about 1/3 of the PTO’s annual budget. Donors receive unique Roberts benefits and classrooms compete to win yummy prizes (think popsicles, donuts, and pizza).
Please stop and say hello if you see me (and Bella)!

- Instant gratification: Push a button, check a box, something’s done!
