NWEA/DIBELS Testing
This week, you will find NWEA and DIBELS baseline reports in your child's Tuesday folder.
Here’s a quick overview of what each assessment covers:
- DIBELS: Evaluates reading skills in kindergarten and grade 1.
- NWEA: Assesses math skills in kindergarten and grade 1, and reading, math, and science skills in grades 2–5.
Please review these reports carefully. If you have any questions about your child's progress, contact their teacher directly. Each report includes recommendations for supporting your child’s learning at home.
Students will take a middle-of-the-year assessment in January 2025 to measure growth from the beginning of the year.
Absences and Tardies
Attending school daily and arriving on time greatly impacts your child’s success. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time daily; school begins at 7:30 a.m. and students are considered tardy at 7:35 a.m. Absences should be reserved for student illness and medical appointments. Parents of students with excessive tardies and/or absences will receive notification with each report card.
Smart Watches and V-Tech Watches
We have observed that many students are wearing smart watches or V-Tech watches at school. These devices are being used to play games, make phone calls, and engage in other activities that can be distracting in the classroom.
Please be aware that smart and V-Tech watches are not allowed on campus. Students may wear a traditional analog watch if they choose. Any smart or V-Tech watches will be confiscated and returned to parents.
Thank you for your cooperation.
