IN THIS ISSUE

Dear Roberts Community,

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I share the news of my transition into the role of Principal at Roberts Elementary. Having had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal here, I have seen firsthand the incredible dedication of our teachers, the resilience and brilliance of our students, and the unwavering support of our families.

Our school is a special place—a community built on relationships, collaboration, and a shared belief that every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong success. As we move forward together, my commitment remains the same: to ensure that every classroom is a place where students are challenged, supported, and inspired to grow.

I believe in the power of great teaching, in high expectations coupled with compassion, and in the strength of continuity. We will continue to build upon the strong systems already in place while always striving for excellence in instruction, equity, and care.

Thank you for your continued partnership and trust. I am honored to lead this next chapter with you and look forward to the work ahead—together, because WE ARE ROBERTS!

With Gratitude,

Erica Zatzkin

ROBERTS COMMUNITY -

You and your kids have been rock stars in supporting Principal Epps, Principal Zatzkin, and all our wonderful teachers and staff! Thank you.

Now it's time to come together. JOIN US THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1st from 10AM-12PM at the Roberts Playground. Let's give Ms. Epps a celebration she deserves. Let's give Ms. Zatzkin the welcome she deserves (although you already know she's great!).

We will have light bites and drinks, memories, and fun. Please share with Roberts alumni groups!

Let's do it the Roberts way - with love, gratitude, and community. WE ARE ROBERTS!

MS. EPPS MEMORY BOX

To celebrate Ms Epps' tenure at Roberts, we will be collecting letters and compiling a book of memories for her. For those wanting to participate, we have two options:

1. Write a handwritten letter and attach a photo or memento to be included in her memory book and drop off at one of our Epps Memory boxes. Be sure to sign your name, child's name, and year(s) you’ve been with Roberts community! You can find the Epps Memory box at reception, at the Principal Celebration this Saturday, or in the administration office.

2. Email an electronic letter to
90th@robertspto.org. Please attach a picture or artwork if you’d like! The letter can be a “ Remember when … “ prompt and share a funny, stressful, or otherwise memorable occasion. Your letter will not be public, just compiled into a book and shared with only Ms Epps.

Thank you for participating! Please send any inquiries to the
90th@robertspto.org email.

WHAT IS THE ROBERTS AUCTION ANYWAY?

The Roberts Auction Soirée is one of the school’s most beloved traditions, where we leave the kids at home to have a great time with the grownups who make this community great. We’ll enjoy hot food (veg and non-veg), cold drinks (alcoholic or non), and music, games, camaraderie, and friendly competition from the casino to the dance floor. It’s a chance to connect with parents and teachers, a party to remember, and a FUNdraiser where we pull together one-third of the PTO budget. Get your tickets at a discount with code earlybird2026!

SARAH HOWARD - BOOK FAIR

My name is Sarah Howard. All three of my children attended Roberts, and this is our family's final year with our youngest!

As an avid reader and bookworm, I immediately started volunteering in the library and with multiple shifts at the annual Book Fair, and this year marks my third on the Book Fair Committee. It's always a much-anticipated event for the kids and a nostalgic and beloved childhood school memory for many parents. We love helping your kids make their book choices, learn how to budget, and raise funds for our beloved RE library. And I'm not gonna lie, it's also really fun to be cashier and play with the barcode scanner!

My favorite parts of being at Roberts has been getting to know so many wonderful families over the years, working with a dedicated and inspiring PTO, and being part of community that deeply values literacy, learning, and diversity. There's no school like Roberts!
