IN THIS ISSUE
STAFF OF THE WEEK: Demetrus Martin (a.k.a. Coach Martin), Crossing Guard

Hi Roberts family! You may have seen me at the intersection of Swift and Greenbriar. I am a retired teacher and coach. I taught Special Ed and coached football, track, and basketball in HISD for 33 years. I am married to a very lovely woman—going on 28 years of marriage. I have five children, and five grandchildren (1.5 to 12 years old)—and all of my grandchildren stay with me! My favorite pastimes are resting and watching football and track. My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I just love this job, it’s the best position I’ve had in a long time. I love the children, parents, teachers, and the staff!

NEW TEACHER OF THE WEEK: Meshelle Leon, PALS Teacher Assistant

I am truly honored and grateful to have been selected as New Teacher Assistant of the week. This recognition means so much to me, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you. To my fellow coworkers and leaders, your support and encouragement inspire me every day. I am thankful for the collaborative spirit we share, which fosters a positive learning and supportive environment for our students. To the wonderful students that I get to interact with each day, your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn make every day in the classroom a joy. The students are the reason I strive to be the best assistant I can be, and I am grateful for the trust you've placed in me. Thanks once again for this incredible honor, I look forward to continuing our journey together and making this school year the best one yet!
